Zi Ku Tang
Zi Ku Tang has been devoted to the research and development of calligraphy fonts and typefaces inspired by Chinese woodblock printing. By preserving the cultural essence of traditional calligraphy and ancient woodblock scripts, Zi Ku Tang bridges the gap between classical artistry and contemporary graphic design. Their mission is to bring the timeless elegance of Chinese characters and the artistic richness of calligraphy and woodblock printing into the digital age. Notable works include YishanKaiTi, ChangLinTi, DengShiXiaoKai, QingKaiTi, SongFengXingShu, and HaiCangKai.

03Academic and Research Institutions
Empowering Educators to Elevate the Impact of Their Research
This collaborative program is designed for higher education institutions and programs focused on innovative, forward-thinking, and socially impactful font design and development projects. Ideal partners should demonstrate strong project execution capabilities and possess the resources to drive meaningful initiatives. We offer expert guidance in font design and development, support in establishing and enhancing font design courses, and opportunities to co-organize academic exchanges focused on font art and cultural heritage. Additionally, we provide market opportunities to translate academic research into practical, commercial applications, along with project-based social practice opportunities for students.
Nankai University X HYDunHuangXieJing
HYDunHuangXieJing is a collaborative project led by Professor Wu Lixing from the Art and Design Department of the School of Literature at Nankai University, Tianjin. In close partnership with Hanyi’s professional design team, the Nankai project team drew inspiration from over 600 characters found in the earliest surviving hand-copied Buddhist scriptures from Dunhuang—a national treasure of immense cultural value. The result is a modern, functional typeface featuring more than 9,000 characters and commonly used symbols. This font was prominently showcased at the 2017 Silk Road (Dunhuang) Cultural Expo, where it garnered widespread attention, and was officially launched in 2018.
